Ostrow Financial Group firmly believes that financial coaching provides a better long-term outcome for its clients as opposed to the narrower notion of financial planning. Why? We believe that traditional financial planning is deficient for the following reasons:

I. A selling tool. Typically, financial planners focus on the sale of a financial product. Financial planning is a “loss leader.” The planner charges a nominal amount for a plan with the hopes of selling a more expensive financial product. In the case of investment products, the result is that the planner and the client are not “on the same side of the table.” Many planners or advisors work for major investment firms, not for the client.

II. The traditional financial planning process does little to educate clients and investors and help them understand and deal with the emotions and other factors that may negatively impact investment returns they experience

III. We offer a variety of investment coaching tools to assist you:

1. An investor quiz to initially determine your level of investment knowledge.

2. A program to help you determine the true level of diversification in your investment portfolio.
3. Continuous offerings on investor education topics
